Smashing June 30, 2008

I did it!  I managed to go to one of my fave mexican restaurants and NOT eat any of the following: tortilla chips, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, rice, OR margaritas!  What did I have?  Vegetables.  And lots of them.  I got the veggie fajitas and it was full of squash, zuchinni, onions, mushrooms, broccoli and more.  I got a side of beans and was very satisfied.  I’m feeling very proud of myself.  Only two more eating events to go this week and then I can really get focused.

I’ve got a bazillion couple of events this summer and I would really like to look my best.  My goal is to lose 10 pounds this month and another 5 in August.

So I’ve decided that we, the people of blogland, are going to Smash together.  Who’s Down?

I’ll check in every couple of days and let you know how I am feeling and you can let me know how you are doing.  I’ll do so much better if I know I am accountable to someone.

Tomorrow is July 1st, a great day to start!  If you can’t start tomorrow, start when you can.  We’ll be waiting!

I haven’t made my way to the bookstore yet, but here is the phase one (the first nine days) food list I found on the internet:

Authorized foods:
-Fruit in any quantity
-Veggies in any quantity except: white potatoes, avocados

Protein sources:
-Chickpeas

Well, put me down for moral support. Or tough love. I have some good wisecracks.

I’m in!!

I weighed myself today (which I rarely do) and was pleasantly surprised that I was 10lbs less then I was the last time I weighed myself (in January). I thought I was just imagining my clothes fitting looser.

I still need to lose about 10 more pounds to reach my goal weight, so I am right there with you. I need to go back to the grocery store to stock on the authorized food and I need to buy the book. I hope I can start officially by this weekend.

I am mad that I can’t eat white potatoes though…oh well.

Now if I can just find the time to work out consistently. Hmmm…

Yay! You can do this!

Congratulations for making it through today!!

I might be able to do a modified smash diet (minus eggs and skim milk). Giving up avocado and potatoes is hard. I’m gonna give it a try!
Go Team Babs!

You don’t have to eat everything on the list. Team Babs!

You’ve given me some motivation to let my two men on the side (Ben and Jerry) go.

I knew they were cheating on me!

Sounds good! I may not be dieting, but I’m hitting the gym hardcore for a MONTH. Yea, it’s going to be hard to motivate myself, but I have to look hot(ter), pardon the modesty, for Miami the first week of August. I figured a gym boot camp would do me a lot of good. I’ll give you that push if you kick my ass to the Y haha

Good luck Babs :)

Boot camp is the greatest! You can do it. I am well aware of the pressure that trips to Miami can put on a person.

Babs I’m in! I need someone to keep me accountable.

And if you can make it without eating the best of Mexican food, you can do just about anything. Congrats!

Yay!

Good luck Smashers! I cannot go without meat for 9 days…y’all are stronger than me!

9. Countess Lboogie - July 1, 2008

I’m in…though I’ll have to wait til next week to load up on more veggies and fruits…I just went to the store so I’ll still be eating meat for the rest of the week, but come Monday, I’m all over it!

Alright, MiMi!

Okay, I am watching what I eat. Cutting out junk food, no candy, only water, no eating after 8pm, no fried foods, but ummmm, that list is not appealing at all. LOL. I will be the third string draft on this team. But I will be the loudest cheerleader!! GO BABS!!!

Do what you can, chica!

11. Sam - July 1, 2008

Ok, I’m trying to lose the rest of my “mommy tummy” so I’m going to start doing what I need to get that in order. I’m in! Did you find the tea on amazon? If not, I can send you the link!

12. Cathy - July 1, 2008

Cheering you smashers on from the side lines!! I’ve heard it is an excellent way to shed 10 pounds quickly. Way to go Team Smashers!!

13. Clu - July 1, 2008

Hmmm…that list looks tolerable…perhaps…

It’s totally tolerable. And no writing ish down our counting points/calories!

14. SimplyB - July 1, 2008

Day 1 is going great for me! I hope every one is doing well.

Yay, B! My day two is going great!
