These “small things” just keep adding up. Last night I was downloading a bunch of Ri.ck Ja.mes and decided to sync my ipod. I hadn’t synced it since I bought my new laptop because I didn’t want to lose my old playlists. Well I got tired of dragging and dropping new songs to old playlists so I decided to start fresh.
I authorized my ipod to sync and guess what- NO SONGS ON THE IPOD. WTF??
Can someone please help me? Itunes looks fine. I have two playlists. But it will not sync with my ipod. I went to apple dot com to look for help but it was too many words and I just didn’t have the mind to research it. If all else fails I’ll be taking my laptop and ipod to the apple store this weekend.
Can someone tell me where there is an appe store?

There is an Apple store in Lenox Mall. There might be others but I am 100% sure there is one at Lenox.
There is one in Perimeter Mall as well!!!
If you sync’ed the ipod and all the songs are missing, it’s possible that you cleared your ipod content. Before going to the mall, check on your computer to ensure that all of the songs are still there.
You can hit me up on email, I can try to help a bit more that way.
Check to make sure that you authorized the new computer to actually be used with the iPod. That happened to me and it would only let me load certain songs to the iPod.
if your new laptop isn’t authorized to play the music you purchased on your other pc it won’t allow you and the songs won’t transfer. if the songs are all in your library then make sure you authorize your new laptop to play your purchased music.. should sync fine after that..
I second what everyone else said about verifying the new laptop is authorized. Also, is your laptop a Mac or a PC? If you’re running Vista, I vaguely recall some type of conflict with iTunes. There was an easy fix but that may play a part as well.
Also, if you have a new computer, you have to have transferred all the old music to it in order for the sync to work properly.
And in regard to yesterday’s post, I don’t know how tall of a ladder you need but we have one that’s really long/tall with multiple ‘legs’ and can be setup in different ways. I know we’re in the same county so you could borrow it if need be.
Let me clarify:
Itunes works fine. I did, indeed, authorize it to play my music when I first got the laptop. The library is full of all of my music.
I’m running Vista on my pc.
I get an error message after I hit the sync button. Something to do with playlists. I’ll update when I get home tonight on what it says exactly.
That happened to me. Twice. First, my PC got wiped out. Next time, my iPod wiped completely out. I don’t mix my Apple products w/ PCs anymore. lol
